Kevin was born and raised in Danville, California, United State (of course he speak english fluent). He living with his parents and older sister. He attended Monte Vista High School and was in the school choir. After auditioning in Korea during a holiday trip, he was chosen and thus decided to be a singer. At the age of 15, Kevin moved to South Korea with his mother to pursue his dream.

Before his debut with U-Kiss, Kevin is a member from XING in 2006 with Marumir otherwise known as Kim Kibum, Yume and Cheon Hyesung. XING always changes their member, but Kevin still at XING 'till 2007. And at 2008 until now , he's a member of U-Kiss ^^
